5flagpole  Oct 30, 2010 By rlmac
Was introduced to this Flagpole at a previous residence. Purchased and used several years before moving. At my new residence, I purchased and broke four new flagpoles including types that are in peices that you stick together and types you lift and twist. Can't get any of these types down after a period of time. You have to lift them out of the ground and as you tilt them over they break.
The Sunsetter, you just lift slightly up to take the weight off the pin, push the pin in and down it comes. Repeat this for each section and wow, it's 4 ft high. Now just lift out of the base if needed. What a concept...
Only two problems that I have discovered and they take a long time to appear. No1, the plastic top that the ball sits in cracks due to exposure and Sunsetter will replace it free. It's held in by two small screws.
No2 is the holes around the pins seem to wobble out after about 5 to 6 years but only minimally. It's steal pins against aluminum tubing. Seems to make retracting it a little more easy.
Let me clarify though, I use my poles for other than intended purposes. They make fantastic 20 ft Christmas trees during the Holidays.
I highly recommend this product and will never buy the other types again. Its the only one for me and I now have two of them.

5Sunsetter 20' Flagpole  Sep 02, 2011 By Benjamin S. Mitchell "Disney Fanatic"
Well made and sturdy. I ordered the bronze, but received the silver one. I was tempted to keep the silver one since it looked good, but opted for an exchange and actually received the replacement before returning the silver one (great customer service from David C.). The bronze pole is simply gorgeous! The flag that comes with it is much nicer than expected. I've ordered the Sunsetter eagle topper and an Annin pole-top light to finish this beauty off. I will proudly fly my U.S. and P.O.W. flags from this flagpole. Thanks to Sunsetter for providing such a great product and exceptional customer service.
Update 10/27/2011: Top two sections of the pole collapsed inside the second section; I was able to get them back up using a step ladder, but now I can't lower the second section (button will not depress). Will be contacting Sunsetter for solution if there is one...I really don't want to drag out the 8' step ladder every time I change flags! I will update again once I hear from Sunsetter.

5Very attractive  Jul 03, 2011 By sterlingmom
Bought this for my husband for Fathers Day. Just installed it, so we will have to see how it holds up in our high winds. I purchased the bronze color, which is beautiful. Love the telescoping feature. It's very easy to put up and down. So far its a winner.

5Nor just for flags!  May 15, 2011 By Nick
I know it's a telescoping flagpole, but I have several other uses for them. The first one I bought holds a UHF two-way radio antenna for my ham radio repeater system. It's easy to take down for service or if the lightning is too close! The second one holds the sensor array for a weather station on the property and gets everything away from the influence of the bushes, building and trees. The third one I am ordering will hold a remote video camera that can be panned, tilted and zoomed to watch over the entire acreage and roadways around the property for remote video surveillance.

Three of these, and none holds a flag...

The oldest has been up for 6 years and still looks and works like new.

5Nice Flagpole  May 05, 2011 By Dick B. Harper "fix-it novice"
This is a very well made pole. It is easy to install and easy to operate. It slides up and down very easily. I sunk it in concrete as suggested and it is quite sturdy.
I have had an issue of one of the snaps coming undone in a high wind but I replaced that with a snap link and it works just fine.
The shipping was prompt and the product was well packed. I would definitely order this item again.
